Meghan Rolfe Photography http://www.meghanrolfephotography.com/ My Background

Originally from Long Island, I grew up outside of Charlotte, NC. And beyond just the photography side.

I traveled abroad and lived lived in Golden, CO for several years after college, but moved back to North Carolina — this time to the beautiful mountains of Asheville — in 2010. North Carolina just feels like home to me. When it comes to weddings, I know them inside and out. Before following my photography dream, I was a dining room manager at a country club and an event coordinator at an event ven

ue. So I understand the hard work that goes into any large event. I was even close to becoming a sommelier! But the pull of photography was too strong. After earning my photography degree and assisting other professional photographers, I went out on my own at the end of 2012 and haven’t looked back. I love the freedom and satisfaction from running my own business. When I’m not working, I love to travel and spend time in nature — mountain biking, rafting, or camping with my dog. I also practice yoga and can make a mean chicken parmesan! In addition to doing wedding and portrait photography for clients, I’ve also had photographs published in WNC Magazine and Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. Why I Love Photography

First of all, I love having the opportunity to capture a moment in time, a moment that will never happen again. Whether it’s a couple sharing vows on their wedding day, or the peaceful face of a tiny newborn, it’s such an honor to be an unobtrusive witness to these unique moments. I also love the intimacy of working one-on-one with a couple or a family. At weddings, I get to whisk the bride and groom off for a few minutes of couple-only photo time and get a special view into their romance. With family portraits, I get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their daily lives. I’m so lucky that I get to meet so many new people and be a part of their lives. And finally, I adore the chance to give people something they truly love. Photographs of sacred times are something people will cherish for the rest of their lives. Being able to provide that to my clients is my real reward. How I Work

If I were to describe my style in one word, it would be: natural. I don’t do a lot of posing because I like people to express their authentic selves. That way, the photos will truly reflect the people in them. My goal is to help you relax and feel comfortable. After all, having your special photos taken should be fun and stress-free! I’m a cheerful, positive person and I bring that to my work. It’s also really important to me to uphold my commitments. That means responding to inquiries promptly, being 100% dependable, and getting your photos to you quickly.

Summertime on the mountaintop 🌼✨
Wildflowers, golden sunset light, flowy skirts, bare feet, kisses, hugs, cuddles and dandelions… basically everything I love about a summer maternity session in the mountains.
And then, because the mountains always seem to add a little magic of their own, a hiker passing by made her a wildflower crown. 🥹🌸
I loved photographing these two. So free-flowing, playful and completely wrapped up in each other soaking in this sweet little season before their family grows.

10 years ago, I photographed these two on their wedding day. This year, they celebrated their 10th anniversary and asked me to photograph them again, this time on a mountaintop with their two boys.
It was so great to see them again, still so in love, and now with two of the sweetest, funniest, silliest boys added to the mix.
One of my favorite parts of doing this for so many years is getting to see families grow and life change. From wedding photos to family photos 10 years later, it really doesn’t get much better than that.
Happy 10 years to this wonderful family! ❤️

My grandma turned 99!
I admire how strong and independent she is, and I hope I inherited at least a little of that from her.
Our family all traveled to celebrate together - her four daughters, grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren (with two more joining the family soon!). It was a special weekend getting everyone together.
The second photo is one I’ll definitely treasure: four generations - my grandma, my mom, me, and Maisie. ☺️

I always hope my couples feel relaxed and can just be themselves, so reading this made my day.

“My fiancée & I could not recommend Meghan Rolfe enough to capture such a special life moment. She is so gentle in her guidance and made us feel so comfortable. After our session she was quick to turn around our photos and gave us so many options to choose from. I couldn’t be happier with my fiancées choice in photographers!”

Tori, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It was such a joy getting to capture this moment for you and Nick, and I’m so excited for everything ahead for you two!

Congratulations again!! ❤️💍🥂

Wondering if you can change outfits during your maternity session?
Yes, and I highly recommend it.
It gives you variety, different moods, and a fuller story from your session, all while keeping things relaxed and natural.
