Since I will be leaving Craven Gap on Monday and heading to Crabtree Falls Campground for my six-week Interpreter-in-Residence gig for the Parkway and the BRP Foundation, this is likely to be the last Image I post for some time.
My plan still is to be west of the Hundredth Meridian by sometime in early September and to begin working on the Public Lands book project by early in 2023. By that time I will have winnowed the Public Lands resources down to somewhere around 125 locations and the number of interviews down to 30-40. I am really excited about the prospects for this adventure.
For today's Image I decided to use something from our final workshop in the Southwest from Capitol Reef National Park. In Capitol Gorge along Capitol Wash we found a wonderfully gnarly old tree whose tonality had taken on the the hues of the late evening sun. It was a light show that was pure magic.
In a side note, the average price of a gallon of gas in the US has now topped $5.00. Your participation as subscriber to my Patreon page, www.Patreon.com/donmcgowan, will make the journey much more feasible, and there are some neat benefits that are go with the support.
