The 2025 Fall NUCA of the Carolinas Conference was an absolute blast!

I’ve been attending NUCA conferences since 2021, and they somehow keep getting better every year. Huge credit to Linda Goslee, Executive Director of NUCA of the Carolinas, for making it all run so smoothly.

I’m truly honored to have received the NUCA of the Carolinas Volunteer Excellence Award this year. The recognition wasn’t necessary, but it’s definitely appreciated. I genuinely enjoy working alongside Linda and all the NUCA members to help push our industry forward.

And on top of that—Taryn and I brought home our fifth NUCA costume contest win!

Already looking forward to the 2026 NUCA Young Leaders Conference and the 2026 Spring Conference.

Always a good time behind the lens at the NUCA Shoot.

Got to catch up with some great folks and grab a few action shots while I was at it — nothing like the sound of shotguns, spent shells in the air, and a little friendly competition.

Not every weld happens in a shop.

Tight space. Underground. Mid-bore. And it still has to be clean, straight, and strong.

Just solid work from a crew that knows what they’re doing.

Big machine, bigger mission.

We’re outside Chapel Hill installing welded steel pipe storm drain for an I-40 widening project. All trenchless — auger bore, hand tunneling — no open cuts, no lane closures. Just the way we like it.

Hard ground, big iron, and a crew that knows how to get it done.

Who would’ve thought a bore machine could be so entertaining!

Who knows, one of these kids may one day work in utility construction, which is what it is all about!

What an unforgettable weekend at the 2025 Conference!

I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of this amazing event, surrounded by some of the best and brightest in the utility construction industry. From insightful discussions with industry peers to an inspiring keynote from , it was a weekend filled with learning, collaboration, and connection.

Beyond the sessions, the Construction Classic Co****le Tournament and Casino Night were a blast, bringing everyone together for some friendly competition and great memories.
