We conducted our first advanced palladium workshop last weekend. As usual with our workshops, they expanded and adapted to the interests of the participants. We covered a lot - palladium printing, platinum-palladium printing, gold-toning palladium and platinum, cyanotype, cyanotype toning, cyanotype over palladium and gum over palladium - along with a smattering of digital negatives and how to gelatin size prints.
As we mentioned yesterday, we did a pile of small cyanotype prints to do toning experiments on. Bob S. is looking over the huge range of print tones that are possible by varying the pH and timing of the bleach and the type of acid used for redeveloping the print. Print tones from slate gray to purple to green are all possible.
