My girlfriend received this letter
My girlfriend, who is from Venezuela. Came into the country a year ago with CBP One. She is currently seeking asylum. She filled out the I-589 form but it was returned to her because the edition she used was out of date (per the letter). She is working on resubmitting her asylum. Any help and opinions will be deeply appreciated

It finally happened
Yesterday I became a citizen. The ceremony happened at MO Campbell, Houston. 1562 of us got naturalised coming from 102 countries. A wholesale ceremony haha!

It’s taken almost 13 years and over $20k in application, medical and legal fees but man it was all worth it to be part of this great nation.

It's over, took 3 years and 2 weeks. My wife 10 year greencard just came in. Thanks all! Good luck with yours.

Today, I am a U.S. Citizen!
Had my Oath Ceremony today in Miami! I’m the happiest!

It was scheduled for 07:30 AM, but it started at about 08:45 AM, after everyone was seated and they printed the certificates / sorted things out in the background.

It was such a beautiful event ♡. I’ve been over the moon all day. I also applied for my passport already. I had an appointment at an agency at 12:15 pm, and I had more than enough time to make it.

My American story:

*Became a conditional resident on August, 2021, after my husband petitioned for me. Adjusted from an F-1 visa with not issue.

*Submitted I-751 in August, 2023.

Submitted N-400 on September 16, 2024.

*Attended combo interview on March 13th, 2025.

*Had my oath ceremony on March 28th, 2025.

it's official! 💚
I'm officially greened! Received my card this morning, I can't believe it's real. Recovering from the stress and anxiety this whole thing caused me is going to take a while but I'm just so happy I finally get to say I'm a permanent resident. A sigh of relief.

Any questions are welcome!

A little backstory: came here in July 2023 on ESTA to spend the summer with my now husband, we got married late August and found a lawyer in September (?), it took forever to file because a) husband had to straighten out the taxes from previous years and b) my lawyer kept disappearing on us lol in hindsight I wish we bailed on them and filed ourselves as I think we would be perfectly fine since our case was rather straightforward. We had our interview in Chicago, got lucky because our officer was very nice. I was given the paper that says the case is under review, approved 2 days later. I'm now waiting for my appointment at the SSA office which isn't till mid December...

🎉Approved without interview
Office: National Benefits Center

My green card was finally approved after long 10 months of waiting!

We’ve been married for two years at the moment we sent the application. I had J1 visa before. We filed everything by ourselves with YouTube videos and lots of reading. I got it for 10 years! 🤩 it was worth the wait!
