For Cortney & Rich, this venue was a dream come true to get married at. With a new home just purchased, two young kids to raise, and financial goals in the future it was just that, a dream. They didn’t think it would be possible in this life. A midweek wedding with 40 of their favorite people was. They planned for shoulder season knowing that the weather could be moody, but lucked out with a day which mirrored perfect summer weather.

Just when you think that dream wedding is unattainable, thinking a little more outside the box, downsizing, and creating something unique is often the solution!

The 2026 elopement and wedding season is about to launch and I am so excited for more of this. This year I am splitting my time between Colorado and New England which feels like a dream.

I can’t wait for all of the epic sunsets, days in the mountains, amazing parties, and the best couples to celebrate with. I’m still pinching myself with how lucky I am this year 🥰

This one is for the moms 💐

-The expecting mothers who endure pregnancy, with the sacrifices and pain it may cause them.
-The moms who quietly, gracefully, and humbly support their children while they elope without their presence. I am personally so grateful for your support to your kids. I promise to capture there day so you can feel like you watch a movie every time you look at their photos ❤️
-The moms who show irrevocable love to their kids.
-The mothers who are wedding vendors and have to sacrifice weekends and sometimes special with their kids to support the family financially.
-Moms of fur babies. We’re often not thought of, but the sacrifices and love with give to our pets is also real.
-To the moms who can’t be with their children when they get married. You’re in our constant thoughts 🪽💔

I recently heard someone ask for help coming up with ideas of things to do on her elopement day. There are two possible paths you can take.

The first is, don’t overthink it. You can just go for a hike, enjoy a sunset, your vows, and maybe a first dance cliffside. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, and love doesn’t need to be. If this feels more natural and authentic to your relationship then keep it simple. These elopements generally last 3-5 hours depending on the hike.

Option two is, go all in! Book the full day adventure. Do all the things you enjoy as a couple. My one caveat with this plan is, if it doesn’t feel like you then skip it. You can do anything here, go skiing, have that picnic with your favorite foods (cake isn’t necessary), get in that canoe and paddle to an island, go climbing, check out a new brewery or distillery… the world is yours.

Don’t do something because someone says it is what you do when you’re eloping. Just be you.

Nothing gives me more joy than moments like this. While Grace knew the proposal was coming from Brian she didn’t know the day or any specifics. They took a stop for a quick walk before brunch and little did Grace know I was hiding behind a bush with my pin dropped to Brian so he knew my precise location.

Combined with their sweet pup Aspen showing up on scene (courtesy of Brian’s parents), these two had a beautiful and emotional proposal.

I’m not sure where my head was at for the past 6 months, but why exactly haven’t I posted more of Amber & David’s amazing elopement day? This was in my favorite place in the world during my favorite time there… wildflower season in Colorado🌻

I also got to design their florals which meant the world to me. The color and whimsy Amber wanted is something I obsess over. Needless to say I think she has amazing taste!

Their day was about them to the core. Amber was never a white wedding dress girl, and frankly I could never have pictured that reality for her. They wanted adventure, intimacy, and to go back to their roots. They both grew up in this magical area of the world and I saw their inner child come out that day as they hiked to the top of the pass through more fields of flowers than I could ever imagine.

We later trauma bonded at a nearby lake when we were swarmed by mosquitoes in the middle of their picnic. Yes my friends, Colorado does indeed have bugs… at least in northern Colorado. I still have the videos to prove it.

I still have yet to find a more magical place in this world than Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Every time I am there I am filled with a sense of joy I could never describe. Maybe the scenery isn’t the most dramatic, and I will be the first to admit to that, but the sense of wonder I receive every time I am in the Yampa Valley of Colorado is always present.
