Outside of immediate family, it is rare to have the opportunity to say you’ve known someone their whole life. At 4 years old, we met and became best friends instantly. We grew up together, remained best friends throughout our elementary, middle school, high school and college years. We have been through every season of life with one another.
Watching a dear friend navigate some life’s most difficult seasons with such grace and an unshakable faith is so inspiring— I’ve had the privilege of watching my best friend gracefully wait for God’s plan to unfold as she and her husband desired to start a family, as they coped through loss, as they began the process of adoption, as they were chosen to become parents of their first miracle baby and now as they await the arrival of their second miracle!
I love doing photography for this exact reason. To create lasting memories for people who at one point, weren’t sure they’d have the opportunity to experience specific moments but someday it is my greatest hope that they’ll look back on their photos, smile, close their eyes and remember living in that exact moment all over again.
