My photography style is truly all over the map, so the best place to see everything is to follow my photography page (click" follow" after my name, go to my page and click the follow button again to set me as a favorite so you don't miss anything). I shoot infrared and astrophotography, the tiny macro world, and landscape in the Pennsylvania/West Virginia/Ohio area, so if you only see me on a specialty page or a local community page you are missing a lot of content!

Question for my fellow creators out there: What do you use to post to Facebook and manage your posts? I have tried Meta Business Suite, and it really sucks. I want something to be able to cross-post to multiple groups but Meta just really doesn't meet my needs. It only lets me post to 3 pages (2 and my own and my IG), but it randomly decides what groups it will allow me to post to in a short list of 7 and it never seems to want to offer me those options. If I want to post astro it only recommends local groups, if I want to post local, it only recommends my macro groups, and there is always some random group that I follow and never post to that it recommends. It is very frustrating.

M57: THE RING NEBULA

Located in the constellation Lyra, The Ring Nebula is the remnant of a star's death 2700 light years away. This is about 3 hours of imaging and I will revisit this later to get more time to bring out better detail in the nebula, but Galaxy Season is winding down and I have other things that I'm more interested in shooting right now. That means it is time to put away the long-reaching Antichrist (my telescope from Hell) and switch to my wider field scope for bigger targets. Shot from my Bortle 5 backyard in Armbrust, PA.

Any time I see a scene that makes me think of days gone by, I like to process it into an "old" photo like a sepia, black and white, or yellowed image like I shared yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I love color images too! So here is a (selective) color shot of that bad-a$$ Ford from New Stanton, PA.

How low can YOU go? I'm betting it isn't much lower than this guy that I caught in the Wendy's parking lot in New Stanton, PA. As luck would have it, when I walked out everyone that was parked by it was just leaving so a short few minute wait and I had it all by its lonesome in the parking lot.

IC405 - THE FLAMING STAR NEBULA

So a funny thing about astrophotography is that it takes a LONG time to capture just one image. I've got one that I'm working on right now that already has over 10 hours of imaging involved in it. Once you have enough imaging in for the shot it takes at least 45 minutes to bring out that image (often times longer depending on how satisfied you are with the results). That is what surprised me about this shot - all of the work that goes into a single shot and this has just been sitting around on my hard drive that I somehow forgot to share. I'm not even sure of how much imagery is involved in this shot because I can't find the original data right now (my old astrophography computer was killed in a rainstorm) but it is probably about 2 hours. Shot from my Bortle 5 backyard in Armbrust, PA.

πŸ”MY GEAR:
Canon EOS RP (Full spectrum modified)
SvBony SV503 70ED refractor with 0.8x flattner/reducer
Skywatcher Star Adventurer GTi mount

I wanted to share this image from my vacation in Ontario last year. The Falls are absolutely beautiful with their constantly cycling patterns of light. Sorry I have been quiet for the past week or so, but I've had surgery around my eyes and it makes editing images a little difficult. I have done a little editing work but not as much as I would like to have accomplished. I'm getting through it and should be back to posting at my old rate in no time.

Just another random shot I took of one of the trucks we have in storage in our yard in Lower Speers, PA. I sure wouldn't have minded driving this bad boi!!

I'm pretty sure the M/V Taylor Marie is the hardest working lady on the Mon, because almost every time I see a towboat it is her! Here I caught her working some barges tied off at Three Rivers Marine in Monessen, PA in front of the trestle and coal pile. Looks like she's mid-repaint too. It is hard for me to pass up a shot of a towboat!
