This is another one of those examples of why I always have my camera ready. I was running an errand when I passed this tree and noticed all these robins clustered in the branches. It was early spring in a light snowfall, and they were actively feeding on the berries. I stopped, shut off the truck, lowered the window, and laid my long lens on the glass to steady it. The notoriously skittish birds were so busy eating they paid me no mind. I clicked off a few frames and went on my way. It wasn't until I returned home that I found I had a winner. Many people have remarked that it doesn't look like a photograph. I take that as a compliment!

Banff National Park is a true gem in Canada. Located in Alberta, not far across the border from Glacier National Park in Montana, Banff offers a wealth of beautiful scenery combined with plentiful outdoor recreational opportunities and wildlife viewing. I took this photograph near the north end of Lake Louise, surrounded by majestic, snow-covered mountains, and is a must-see spot in its own right. This park is another location to add to your travel Bucket List.

When I'm on the road I make it a point to travel the back roads whenever possible. It's there that I often find the special images. This abandoned barn is one of them. There it stood, framed in the trees with a windmill for good measure. And near Jet, Oklahoma you ask? I haven't been able to determine why the tiny town just down the road was named 'Jet' – other than the fact that there was a military fighter jet perched on a pylon next to a service club in town. Go figure.

My wife loves to fill this little metal wagon with decorations for the season. So, before she placed it on the porch one year, I took this photo out amongst the leaves in the yard.
