Yesterday, I had the opportunity to photograph a behind-the-scenes look at 23 Dance Space’s Core (competitive) dancers during training, and I was completely blown away by how incredibly hard these dancers work.
It was hot. It was hours of intense training. And they just kept going.
But as I went through the images this morning, I noticed a theme that really stood out to me: their teacher, Competitive Director, and studio owner, Brittany, was right there with them.
Training. Teaching. Pushing. Encouraging. Expecting the very best from them and from herself.
It was truly inspiring to watch.
While the studio may share beautiful images of these dancers and talk about how amazing they are, I want to take a minute to talk about Brittany and the reason these dancers work as hard as they do.
They see her work ethic. They see the standards she holds herself to. They see that she doesn’t ask anything of them that she isn’t willing to give herself.
And they rise to that example.
Brittany probably won’t be the one sharing these photos of herself, so I will.
Because behind every incredible dancer is someone putting in the work alongside them and yesterday, I got to witness just how much she does to help these dancers become the best they can be.
These images may be of the dancers, but they’re also a glimpse into the person behind so much of what they’ve achieved.
