Not photography related, but…

Many of you don’t know that before I ever picked up a camera, music was a huge part of my life. I spent years singing in competitions, performing, and taking every opportunity I could to be on a stage with a microphone in my hand.

Recently, I entered a contest singing The Star-Spangled Banner, and the grand prize is pretty incredible: a trip to Nashville to professionally record the song, which will then be shared nationwide in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.

AUBRE + WYATT | engagement

Last week was full of engagement sessions, and Aubre + Wyatt’s was one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

This is only part one of their session—the urban side of their love story—and trust me, part two deserves a post all its own. Between the city backdrop, the way these two effortlessly make each other laugh, and the undeniable chemistry they share, every photo felt like magic.

These two are an absolute blast to be around, and getting to document this season of their lives is such an honor. If their engagement session is any indication of what’s to come, their wedding day is going to be something truly special.

Zach + Olivia

Some inquiries come through and make you smile.

When Olivia’s message popped up telling me she was engaged, I think I actually screamed.

I had the honor of photographing a wedding she was a part of last year, so getting to be the one trusted to capture this season of life for her and Zach feels incredibly special. These two are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the chance to get to know, and after spending the evening with them, I am even more excited for what’s ahead.

Their wedding day is going to be beautiful, but more importantly, it’s going to be full of the kind of love that is easy to see and impossible not to celebrate.

Jared + Jackie | ENGAGEMENT

Some sessions just mean a little extra to me.

Getting to photograph people you grew up alongside is such a full circle feeling. I graduated with Jared, and while Jackie was a few years younger, they were both always the kind of people you genuinely loved being around. The kind that leave people feeling seen, welcomed, and cared for.

So getting to capture this season of their lives — the quiet moments, the laughter, the way they look at each other — truly feels like an honor. I already know their wedding day is going to be something so special, and I’m beyond grateful they chose me to be a part of it.

Along the shores of Big Sur with Colton + Parisa

California seriously showed off for us with this one. This was just one of the many stops we explored together along the coast, and every location somehow kept getting better than the last. Between the cliffs, the ocean air, and these two just existing together so naturally, it felt like one of those sessions you never really want to end.

THE DAVIES | Jeremy + Sophia

I flew all the way to California for this one and I already know this wedding is going to stick with me for a long time.

Sophia + Jeremy are just the kind of people that make you feel lucky to be there. So kind, so calm, so genuinely in love. The entire day at Mission San Juan Bautista and Paicines Ranch felt really meaningful from start to finish.

There’s something really special about getting to witness people love each other this deeply and getting trusted enough to document it.

Out of office!

I’ll be away from today, May 14th through Tuesday, May 19th while I’m in California photographing what is going to be the most stunning wedding weekend.
