Want candid photos that actually feel candid? Read this first…

The secret usually isn’t “don’t pose.”

Most couples actually do need some direction, otherwise you end up with the stiff “what do I do with my hands?” feeling that makes photos look awkward in the first place.

That’s why I focus more on prompting and movement instead of strict poses. I’ll give you something to do, interact with, or focus on so the moments can unfold naturally instead of feeling overly staged.

The goal is photos that feel effortless, emotional, and actually true to you.

Engagement sessions are SO important… here’s why - you spend your entire wedding day with your photographer. Beginning to end, we’re there. No one wants to hang out with a complete stranger on the biggest day of their lives!

Having an engagement session gives us the chance to get to know each other. For me to see how you connect and interact with your partner. And for you to get a feel for my work flow, and get comfortable in front of my camera. This is why ALL of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session! So we can be bffs by the time your wedding day rolls around 🤓

The first look with dad holds a special kind of emotion that’s hard to put into words.

The happy tears, the proud smiles and the comforting hugs.
These moments hit especially close to home for me, because I didn’t get to experience this on my own wedding day. Getting to witness it for my couples and to document this kind of love is something I’ll never take for granted.

5 things i would tell you as your wedding photographer… (if i wasn’t afraid to hurt your feelings)…

1. I’d never pressure you into a first look. But if you do one, you will spend a lot more time with your partner on your wedding day.

2. If you want cute candid photos, you have to be cute and candid. We can’t create real moments. Stay close to your partner, be affectionate, get out on the dance floor.

3. Using Pinterest as inspo is great. But your day will look like your venue, your decor, your weather, your lighting - not someone else’s.

4. There’s no such thing as a “timeless” wedding. Your photos are like a time capsule. It’s okay to embrace whatever styles are popular now if you like them.

5. Your mood will show up in your gallery. If you’re unhappy, tense or chaotic, no amount of editing can fix that.
