Halfway through June, and I simply can’t believe it.
And this session felt like the perfect way to kick off summer.
It wasn’t booked for a birthday.
It wasn’t their annual family photos.
Mama booked it just because.
And I think that matters.
Because one day she’ll be taller than the grass and won’t reach for your hand when it feels too high. She won’t ask you to carry her when her little boots get tired. She won’t tuck her face into your shoulder or hand you tiny wildflowers like they’re priceless treasures.
But for one evening, the world slowed down.
Mama wore the flowy dress.
Daddy wore the cowboy hat.
And a little girl in pink twirled through the field, collecting memories without ever knowing she was making them.
The beautiful thing about family sessions isn’t that everyone smiles perfectly at the camera.
It’s that years from now, you’ll remember exactly how it felt to hold the weight of your whole world in your arms.
The way she fit against your shoulder.
The way her little boots disappeared in the grass.
The way she still reached for you.
And when the memories begin to blur, these photographs will remind you of one ordinary summer evening. The summer before she turned three, and that is worth remembering forever.
