We still here, babyyyy! ✨
Lots of questions if I am still doing weddings. Yes, yes I am! However, 2022 and going forward is going to look a lil different.
2022 is my 10th wedding season. Woof. Howww is that even possible?!
To be honest, 2020/C0v!d/the pandemic was crazy and opened my eyes to the wedding industry. It showed me what was important and what matters on a wedding day. 2021 was full blown, twice as busy because of 2020 reschedules into 2021 and it showed me that too much is TOO MUCH. I don't need to say yes to everything, I can pick and choose, and I'm allowed to change. Being a wedding photographer is not who I am, it's just a part of what I do.
Also, Chris and I have been engaged for an entire year! So many questions about our plans and honestly, being a wedding vendor kinda paralyzed me from even thinking about my own day. I have been so immersed in other people's countdowns and weddings that I am afraid I might forget to enjoy my own.
So I am reclaiming myself in 2022. It's the year that I have boundaries (maybe even some balance?!), the year I get to have summer weekends, the year I get to create my own memories, and the year I might even get married?! (Still no concrete plans, but hey, ya never know?!)
Yes, I am still love telling the story of a wedding day, but I'll decide when and where and how many and IF. After 10 years I'm ready to slow the hustle, enjoy what is on my plate already, on my schedule currently, and not constantly be pushing for more, more, and more.
Cheers to 2022! ✨
