Recently I visited Tucson just for half a day. But these classic jets made the spotting so fun! Sierra Pacific is a charter airline based in Tucson, having 1 735 and 2 732s. In addition, American operated 4 Super 80 flights into Tucson this day!

This DC-8-72, N872SJ (ex. VP-BHS), was ferried to Kingman, AZ today (Feb 3, 2017).

As a sunny day comes to end, the noise echoed over the desert. N872SJ walked on the ramp of the desert airport after landing from Bangor, ME. This is most likely to be the final landing in her nearly half-decade long life.
This DC-8 was originally built in 1969 as N8966U for United. As the second life, she went to Europe for jobs as a VIP aircraft. Then today, she finally came back to USA.
It was amazing seeing the beautiful 4-engine bird as well as hearing the noise!

本日(2月3日)、また一機、残り少ないDC-8が最後であろう着陸をしました。DC-8-72、N872SJ(元VP-BHS)がメイン州バンゴーから、「飛行機の墓場」であるアリゾナ州キングマン空港にフェリーされてきました。
砂漠の晴れた1日が終わろうとする中、17時40分頃DC-8が轟音を砂漠に響かせながら姿を現しました。その爆音からこのDC-8の約半世紀の歴史を感じつつ、シャッターを押しました。

While Arizona doesn't have any regular 777 flights, it's always one of my joys in LA to spot 777s. Of course, my favorite is the ones from HK!

EAA brought their B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" to my base airport, Prescott Municipal Airport! The B-17 is planned to be displayed at Legend Aviation Friday to Sunday as well as sightseeing flights.

Today prior to the event, the B-17G performed a flight. It was probably a test flight.

I visited San Bernardino International Airport, SBD, last weekend. SBD is located at the east edge of the LA Area. While airports in the desert like VCV or MHV are more known as aircraft graveyards, SBD has some aircrafts in storage too. Here are the aircrafts I have spotted there.

B-HKT, one of the last three Cathay Pacific Jumbos, was ferried to Victorville, California, as "Cathay 3336 Heavy." Here is the photo taken moments before her final landing on RWY17.
I have many memories with B-HKT..., so glad to see her again at the very last, but I also wish she came back to the sky.

British Airways oneworld liveried Jumbo is on final RWY25R at Phoenix Sky Harbor just a few minutes before sunset. PHX's north runway, which is usually assigned for this BA flight, is now closed due to maintenance.
