Follow up post with some more photos from my trip to the cemetery yesterday on 5.24.26

I stopped by the cemetery today to pay some respect on my way out to Myakka. As I was loading up my car to leave this storm started raining extremely hard with intense lightning. I took this photo in the corner of the cemetery right before the rain hit. May 24th 2026

"Sarasota National Cemetery, just under 24,000 American Flags were placed by over 1,000 volunteers.
As each Flag was placed, each Hero’s name was said β€œout loud” and they were thanked for their service and sacrifice, by the volunteer! These Flags will stay in place for one week, until next Saturday morning. If you can, please stop by, or drive through the Cemetery slowly, to thank these heroes!" - Maverick in the Morning

"Over 28,000 veterans are laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Twenty-five died in active duty or officially as a result of their service, and their names were called in remembrance." - ABC 7 Sarasota
