Today is my 47th birthday, and I’m grateful to celebrate another year surrounded by my family.

Sharing traditions through photo art with my daughter—keeping our culture and memories alive. 💐📸 Día de los mu***os.

First engraved by José Guadalupe Posada in 1912 as La Calavera Garbancera, she satirized indigenous women who adopted European fashion to appear upper-class. Renamed La Catrina by Diego Rivera and Frances Toor in the 1930s, she became a national symbol of Mexico’s blended identities. Immortalized in Rivera’s 1947 mural Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Park. La Catrina—a symbol of Mexico’s blend of cultures and its joyful view of life and death. Today, she stands at the heart of Día de los Mu***os, reminding us to honor our roots and loved ones. 💀🌸
