In the last two weeks of the year, I typically turn off all work-related devices and focus on being fully present with my family.💝
Tonight, I decided to go through my personal photos—organizing, culling, reminiscing. A friend shared their beautifully organized phone photo archive recently, and it inspired me to finally start. My work and laptop is methodically organized but not my phone. (Anyone want to guess how many photos are in my camera on my phone? More than 20,000 less than 100,000 🤪 Maybe a prize in it whoever comes closest by 10,000)
Every so often, I come across an image I once downloaded to my phone for social media—and it stops me for a moment. I smile. I remember. 💕
This photograph takes me back to Fit4mom body back sessions. With little kids and navigating motherhood with the most amazing women.
It takes me back to the first time I was approved to photograph on the United States Naval Academy
💛💙 grounds. It was a process—vetting, permissions, and knowing that a portion of each session supported the Brigade of Midshipmen. It felt meaningful then, and it still does now.
This was many years ago. And this time of year, I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to reminisce through the images I’ve been entrusted to create.
My social media often grows quiet during the fall 🍁—not because I’m absent, but because I’m deeply present with my clients. September through December is no joke in our house. My kids know it well: Mommy’s busy season. Daddy's cooking a lot. The four of us are like ships passing in the dark of night.
In the middle of that we have three huge holidays and two very big birthdays. There's lots of balls juggling.🤹♀️
It’s also the season where I get the honor of returning to families year after year—through a phone call, an email, or a familiar name popping up again asking what my availability is.
Whether we’ve worked together many times, just once, or not yet at all—your stories stay with me. We talked during our session, I get to know your families and moments.
Graduations. Weddings. Editorial moments. Historic Annapolis. Destination events. Moments that don’t always fit neatly into a category or gallery to promote. 🤞
I get to document pieces of your lives—emotions, traditions, and generational memories that will outlive us all. I get to help you build your brand. And I’m always grateful when one of those images finds its way back to me… like this one, from many moons ago. 😘
