A few days ago, I had the honor of sitting down with Alice Williams, Director of Procurement right here in Prince George’s County.
And let me tell you… this was a remarkable experience.
They kicked things off with a powerful opening remarks from County Executive Aisha Braveboy, setting the tone for what this moment really represents for businesses in the county.
For years, we’ve all heard it: “We don’t know where the opportunities are.”
“We can’t reach the right people.”
“It’s the same businesses getting the work.”
But things are shifting.
Alice said it plain and clear:
“We are open for business.
We are creating access.
We are bringing transparency.”
And what made this event even stronger was the lineup of speakers. With us was Michael Johnson, Director who leads a dynamic portfolio of that includes a multi-million-dollar operating budget and a capital improvement program spanning bridge construction, roadway maintenance, transit coordination, and critical public service and Dr. Moki, who highlighted upcoming opportunities focused on environmental preservation and sustainability.
This was nothing short of real insight. real guidance. And real direction for businesses trying to get in the game and grow.
Shout out to the Prince George’s County Office of Procurement team for putting this together. The level of intention behind this event… you could feel it.
I am truly grateful to be in rooms like this, capturing these conversations, and bringing this level of access to our community through CAG Media.
It’s all a part of the journey.
