Although I'm not typically one for words on social media, I feel it necessary to summarize the status of my beloved One Six Photo. For those of you who have loyally followed the (recently dormant) page and have asked:

Yes, I am still taking pictures.

The past year of life has been that of tremendous sorrow, but incredible support. It has been filled with overwhelming challenges but continual growth. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by the most wonderful humans who have tirelessly shown me unconditional love, who have forced me to laugh, and who have encouraged me to continue to do the things I enjoy. I am forever grateful to have my people.

With that being said, little by little, I have eased my way back into the art. With me I carry my dad's lenses, his beautiful eye for photography and, as always, his enormous heart.

I couldn't agree more with fellow photographer, Leisa Thompson, when she says, "As a photographer, I always feel like one of the gifts I can give, is trying to make someone else feel good."

It's the most incredible gift in the world.

The Craniofacial Anomalies Program at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is made up of some of the most genuine, passionate, caring people, and the photographers like myself were fortunate to have been a part of this amazing project they organized this past May.

I will forever be grateful for the opportunity I was given to have spent the day with these inspiring kids.

To say that Madeline's 80's themed Bat Mitzvah at The Polo Fields Golf & Country Clubs this past weekend was a blast would be an understatement. I was so honored to be asked to photograph the event for the very generous, kind, loving Berger Family for many reasons, but it gave me one great reason to return to one of my old stompin' grounds to see some of my very favorite people.
