Peony Garden Minis are a wild ride. There are about 4 million people meandering around you, so many colors, all different types of peonies, and it can be a bit overwhelming for our little friends.

But guess what? I’m made of ✨magic✨ and can get everyone to have the BEST time. Seriously. I draw on my camp counselor past self, and don’t mind belting out some songs to make everyone laugh.

I say all of this, and yet still, getting responses like Katy’s makes my heart sing. I love being able to surprise families with a gallery full of great images (especially when they think there will only be a few good ones in there).

I’m always down for an adventure through the grasses, I’m really good at tick checks so it doesn’t bother me *winks at camera*

I love being able to document our day to day lives, and I plan to bring my big girl camera with me on all of our day trip adventures this summer.

We can’t afford big summer trips, don’t know if we’ll ever make it to Disney, and try to be frugal with our money, but I know that we are creating core memories by just making every day special even if it’s not flashy.

This has led me to believe in the power of documentary photography for family photos. If you’re going to invest in a session, let’s make sure it reminds your future selves of what your daily life looks like. And while yes, sometimes it’s nice to go to a beautiful place and get all dressed up for photos, the ones you’ll look back on more fondly will be the messy middle parts of life.

Anyways, I will share our adventures this summer and if you’re looking for ideas on how to get out of the house and what the heck you’re gonna do, maybe follow along and nab some of our ideas.

Sometimes the best place to hang for your newborn photos is in baby sister’s room.

And sometimes you gotta get a bit rowdy because your big brothers gotta get that energy out!

Don’t feel like you have to fit into a box for your newborn photos, you’re allowed to let them be exactly what you want. They’re your memories after all.

Story time while I water the garden (but no voice over because I have no voice)

I’ve been sick. Cough, no voice, fatigue, the works. But somehow I’ve still been gardening. I mean, the world keeps spinning even when we’re sick, and since the garden is life (until the ADHD decides it’s boring again) I couldn’t stop planting. Anyone else suffer from this very specific problem?

Here’s a list of what we’ve got growing:
