American Artist Ed Ruscha once said, “Prints are poetry of everyday.” I love this. It perfectly sums up why I do what I do and Anj Portrait Studio prioritizes art for your walls❤️.

Thankful for this unimagined future, the gift of contentment, and for you, dear clients❤️, for making my life as an artist a reality I adore.

College Anj was never going to live in Iowa, 100% not be married, and take the world by storm. Fashion, fun, a condo of all windows and somehow work for National Geographic AND Vogue😂.

Life looks a little different and I wouldn’t change a thing.

A little magic, whimsy, and a healthy dose of cute🥰.

Imagination is a beautiful beast, my friends, and creating art is and forever will be my favorite type of play. This was digitally painted layer by layer. It will then be printed on canvas and painted with oil paint - stay tuned for more BTS.

I’m still not over how gorgeous these family portraits are - seeing them installed, though? NEXT LEVEL.

On this installation, we hung their new portraits and rearranged their portraits from 2 years ago. The goal is for your home to show the “real” of your family - whatever that means to you❤️.

Seeing the Roger’s family progress through the years is such a gift - watching their kids grow from tweens to senior pictures to elite college athletes, being inspired by their parenting and the amazing children they’ve raised, and playing a role in filling their home with delightful memories and joy.

Also - epic audio necessary.

My end goal for your portrait session? Fine art. Always.
Swipe to see the original - honestly? I love them both. Both of these are gorgeous - but hold and elicit very different emotions.

Self-portrait with a flamingo? Yes, please. 🦩

I’m thrilled to join small businesses across Central Iowa for Let’s Flamingle: Birds of a Feather Are Stronger Together, to raise awareness and encourage action against breast cancer in Iowa.

This one is more personal - my aunt is a breast cancer survivor, and I’m at higher risk myself. So to every woman reading this: know your risk. Get screened. Knowledge is power - that’s our family motto 💕.

Being part of the flock means rising together, making each other better, and making sure we all get the care we deserve. Key word? Together 💕.

Look for these flamingos at participating businesses around Central Iowa. Each one has a QR code that links directly to the official donation page for Can Do Cancer. Every dollar raised goes straight to supporting local cancer survivors in Central Iowa.

Ready to schedule a screening? GRACE Breast Imaging & Medical Spa | Breast Health Experts is the absolute best. Swipe for scheduling info and the Can Do Cancer QR code. →

{ yellow } continuing my monochromatic series☀️

My mood was pajamas, a robe, and all day baking before I forced myself into the studio. I needed to play today💛.

Lit with 1 yellow gelled light (aka Mr.Sun).

The minute we installed this art for the Howe family, the vibe of the entire room changed. It balanced the space with the black window detailing, gave an anchor point, and elevated the aesthetic.

Did you know APS is a full-service studio? All artwork is framed/finished, delivered and installed❤️. One of my goals with the workflow of the studio was to take away any pain points.

So often session images live on a computer with the hope of printing in the future, or, it gets printed and never hung. Our home included😬. I love knowing that my clients complete their time with me with artwork on their walls, ready to enjoy❤️.

Also, I have an unhealthy obsession with this audio and all the lip syncs being done😂.
