Several years ago, I received a heartbreaking message from a friend. His 9-year-old niece, Elayna, had passed away from cancer. She was only 5 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Her family asked if I would film her celebration of life. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done with a camera—and a moment I will never forget.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the Unravel Iowa Gala each year. It’s one small way I can use my work to give back and support the fight against pediatric cancer.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people, businesses, and organizations who show up, give generously, and continue to push this mission forward.
