Courtney & Nick’s wedding was an emotional one with some of the sweetest and touching speeches I’ve ever heard, a daddy daughter dance that had me in tears, so much laughter, and ended with me tripping over a concrete bench while walking backwards taking photos 😅 lol not the first time I’ve fallen on a wedding day so honestly no surprise for me 🤪
I still haven’t gotten over this day and how welcoming and kind their friends and family were. Prepare to see a lot more from this day! 🤌🏻

10 years ago today, I photographed my first wedding EVER! Swipe to see some of those photos from Mikayla & Joshua’s wedding day! 🥹
They trusted a 17 year old newbie who had never photographed a wedding before and their wedding really sparked something in me that has continually pushed me all of these years later! I got to witness and capture pure joy, true love, and a sacred covenant! I will be forever grateful for this first wedding I photographed and the hundreds of weddings I’ve photographed since then!

Just a few of my favorites from Sydney & Aidan’s perfect wedding day! 🥹

One thing was for sure on this day.. it was holy! You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and it was beautiful how Sydney & Aidan welcomed God into every inch and every minute of their wedding. Seeing holy covenants be made will always make my heart happy! Here are a few of my favorite things that happened on this day!

✨ Aidan was holding the cross during the ceremony and I loved that he was keeping Jesus near in such a special moment.
✨ Sydney & her dad had the sweetest first look and everyone was crying! Seriously, Sydney, her dad, mom, sister and even I was crying! It was special!
✨ The way Sydney & Aidan would sneak a glance at each other while the speeches were going on and someone would say something sweet about the other person. They just have this sweet way of reassuring each other even with just a look!
✨ We had such a special, set apart moment in the chapel after the ceremony and it was so nice to just take photos of the two of them in the quietness of the chapel!

Can we talk about how gorgeous Des Moines actually is?? I feel like we don’t give it credit enough but it’s got some gorgeous spots and I’m just such a sucker for our cute little skyline 🥹

Taylor & Brad’s engagement session in Clear Lake was an absolute dream! 🥹 We spent time running on the sand, walking through the ice cold water, and slow dancing on the beach. I first met them at their families lake house and we got some gorgeous photos on the dock that they got engaged on. I just love sprinkling in little touches that are personal like having photos at a location that you already have such amazing memories on! I can’t wait for their wedding coming up this year! ♥️

Isaiah & Kaitlyn get married next year but I had the privilege of meeting up with them to capture their engagement photos before Isaiah got deployed late last month. What an honor it is to capture moments and memories that will give them something to cling to until they’re reunited again!

I know Memorial Day already came and passed, but I wanted to say thank you to all of the brave people who fight or have fought for our country and risk their lives for our safety! You’re a hero! 🫶🏻

Big announcement!! My website got a HUGE upgrade!!!

I’ve had so many people guessing things like a new studio opening, more associates added to my team or even releasing an album with my husband which made my day honestly! 🤣 But this is something that is long overdue and has been a huge pain point in my business! Let me explain a bit!

I got my first website made for me when I first went full time in 2020, and it instantly didn’t feel like I wanted it too. I felt like it didn’t represent my brand well and it didn’t capture the way that my photos look and feel. It also was only one page and the tabs at the top just scrolled down to a place on the home screen and that always felt very off to me so seeing this new website and the cohesiveness of it literally makes me want to cry! 🥹

This year I knew it was time to make a change and put my website into my own hands, so I’ve been slowly but surely piecing this website together with the help of a template I purchased from one of my favorite photography education brands, 🫶🏻

Mr. & Mrs. Fails 🫶🏻

This was seriously such a special day.. Caroline & Caleb were surrounded by their family and friends who all made sure that they had the best day! Here are just a few moments that stuck out to me the most.

✨ There was a moment right before Caroline was about to get into her dress where she was just dancing in the bridal suite and it was the complete picture of girlhood and it was just the sweetest! 🥹

✨ Caleb gave the necklace that Caroline is wearing as a wedding gift and it went perfectly with the jewelry that she had already chose! He knows her so well!

✨ Caleb is a twin and his brother gave such a sweet speech about how they’ve been by each other’s side since the start of their lives and now he’s giving that to Caroline. I was in tears. ♥️

✨ Caroline’s veil kept falling off once she walked down the aisle and she handled it with such class and joy! She just laughed it off and remained in the moment!

✨ At the end of the night when I was packing up my gear, I saw Caroline’s grandma looking at the photos on the table that had all of their loved ones that had passed. It was such a sweet moment so I quickly got out my camera again to document it.

What a sweet start to their forever! 🫶🏻

What an iconic wedding with so many sweet moments woven in! When they first told me that they love fishing and spending time with friends and family, I knew we’d get along perfectly! 🥹 What a perfect day spent with the people closest to them, with the perfect weather and the best party to celebrate such a sweet covenant! Congrats Julia & Sam! Forever grateful for you! 🫶🏻
