Miss Mary and Charm have known each other for nearly 30 years, since the moment Charm came into the world as a filly. Mary told me she fell off a paint mare when she was three, insisted on climbing back up, and has spent her life in the saddle ever since.
Photographing the bond these two share and the joy they still bring each other even with life at a slightly slower pace now, was so so special.

More sessions with horses (or dogs!) and their people, please.

POV: It’s the morning of your wedding day, and instead of rushing between hotels and venues, you wake up where you’re getting married. You eat an incredible breakfast onsite. You linger a little longer before getting ready. No driving. No timeline stress. Just space to breathe.

Almost four years ago, the Highland Glen Lodge nearly burned down. Since then, it has been lovingly restored and built into a beautiful bed and breakfast and intimate wedding venue.

Finding a beautiful wedding venue within Anchorage is rare. Finding one that works beautifully in every season is even rarer. (Winter weddings here would be magical too!)

You can host your ceremony, dinner, and reception all in one place (up to about 30 guests) with lodging for you and your closest people. This means less production, and more time actually being present in the moment.

If you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding that feels calm, personal, and includes those you love most gathered around one table, definitely consider the Highland Glen.

From their elopement deep in Alaska’s wilderness, to meeting up again in Nashville as Nick & Katja welcomed their first newborn, to now—watching this sweet girl (named after Alaska’s mountains) run around with her parents as they prepare to welcome her sibling.
It feels like the best kind of full-circle story.

Photographing my couples as they grow into families is one of the greatest honors of my work. A reminder that your story doesn’t end on your wedding day and that these moments are just as fleeting and worthy of remembrance.

Derek and Melaina’s wedding in Homer was sunny, easygoing and full of joy. They brought their dogs, leaned into the day as it came, and created a celebration that felt effortless and fun — complete with horses grazing nearby.

This was the second of two back-to-back weddings I photographed at , (crazy how that worked out and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!) It’s run by an incredible family, and is the kind of place where everyone feels welcome and cared for.

Jason and Krystal were married on the beach in Seward, Alaska at . With the mountains and the sea behind them, their ceremony felt quiet and intentional.

As the day unfolded, it naturally shifted from refined to relaxed. A long family table in the forest, incredible food both catered and made by friends, and the kind of atmosphere where people lingered, and shared stories. Under the midnight sun a campfire was lit, kids and dogs wandered through, and by the end of the evening, sweats were on, and everyone was dancing.

Elegant yet laidback in the best way.
