Bulldozers are breaking ground in Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.
Just weeks ago, we won a major victory when a federal court struck down the Trump administration's illegal land exchange for a road through the heart of Izembek's refuge and wilderness lands.
But the fight isn't over.
A court has now allowed construction to move forward on a separate 2.8-mile road segment on King Cove Corp. lands within the refuge—leading directly to the doorstep of Izembek Wilderness.
This is exactly what's at stake when laws meant to safeguard our nation's wildest places are treated as obstacles to get around rather than protections to uphold.
We're appealing the decision. And we're not done fighting for Izembek.
