PSA: Watch out for Night Heron. 🫠
Apparently we have around 30 of these things nesting in one tree nearby. I thought they just looked cool. Then the bird experts entered the chat:
“Evil birds.”
“They stab people in the eyes.”
“They kill everything.”
“Get Rue some goggles.”
Meet the Black-crowned Night Heron.
Red eyes. Spear for a face. Tiny feathered dinosaur living in the Riveridge swamp district.
Honestly though, watching them haul branches around and build nests all day was pretty incredible. Nature is brutal, weird, loud, and covered in bird p**p.
Still a sick name though. Thanks .dan for being a ballin BIL birdologist🙆🏼♂️
