Hoskins is an enthusiastic and gifted photographer who enjoys traveling and photographing the scenic beauty of the West as well as the East Coast, mainly scenic New England. She enjoys designing unique photographic processes such as Polaroid Transfers and she has combined color with black and white photography to produce interesting nature portraits. o canvas. Her passion for photography has enhanced her attention to detail in composition and technique. Her flare for the understated produces dynamic compositions from elements that other photographers generally pass by. Melissa grew up in Amherst, New Hampshire and graduated from Souhegan High School. Her senior project was photography related and started her on her educational course in professional photography. With an appreciation for the photography style of Ansel Adams, Melissa headed west to Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and California, before settling in Colorado. She became a photography major and graduated from Colorado Mountain College, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Melissa opened her own business, Around The Corner Photography in Amherst and Mason New Hampshire and she is also Co-Chair of the Keyes Art Group, in Milford, N.H. She has shown a 21 piece solo art show at the Amherst Library, as well as participated in many local art shows. Melissa has won many awards for her outstanding photographic art, Peoples Choice Award at the Parkhurst Annual Art Show in Amherst, Peoples Choice Award at the Annual Beaver Brook Art Show in Hollis and most recently the Peoples Choice Award at the Annual Keyes Art Show in Milford, as well as winning ribbons for the same show, just to name a few. She has won recognition with one of her art photos that was printed in the Milford Cabinet. Beside photographic art, Melissa is an accomplished wedding and portrait photographer. Many of her photos have also appeared commercially in national magazines, most notably "Cycle Source". Melissa believes that a wedding is a special day for bride and groom and she tailors her wedding design to the style of wedding. Using a combination of color and black and white photos, she is able to capture the essence, the elegance and the magic of that special day.
