This shot was taken alongside Lake Josephine leading to Grinnell Glacier. The early morning light grew as the sun slowly crested the mountains to the east. This adventure was one of my favorite, as I was greatly anticipating the climb ahead and the beautiful view of Grinnell Lake.

The Thompson River Valley near Glacier National Park was settled almost 200 years ago. Deep in the forest, early pioneers sought to tame the wilderness and scratch out a living by farming the mountain highlands, trapping, and hunting.

As the sun was setting I ventured out from the cabin to explore the surrounding area. As I was wandering, I caught about a dozen elk crossing the nearby field followed by one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The area seems almost unchanged since the first pioneers arrived.

After ascending Deseret Peak in the Stansbury Mountains in the West Desert of Utah I caught this beautiful rainbow on the way home. The desert is indeed a beautiful place in the springtime.

Beautiful Lake Louise is the main attraction of Banff National Park. Millions come from around the world to see the gorgeous water and the absolute beauty of the valley. Needless to say, the lake is definitely worth the trip!

The trail to Hector Lake in Banff National Park requires fording a river, and roaming through prime grizzly bear habitat, but it is definitely worth it for the secluded beauty of the forest.

After a day full of rainy weather and fog I reached Herbert Lake on my journey north along the Icefields Parkway. The rain had been pounding all day long and stopped briefly when I arrived. The fog slowly cleared and I snapped this shot before the deluge started again. The Canadian Rockies look absolutely beautiful shrouded in clouds!
