Space from the Suburbs

Markarian's Chain of Galaxies is the most distant area of sky I was able to capture from the backyard.  A good target for May, these galaxies are 50-60 million light years away in the constellation Virgo.

Comet Lemmon

This was over a period of about 30 minutes.

Fun fact: No matter what direction a comet is moving, the tail always points away from the Sun.

I still couldn't quite make it out visually so I was really impressed with what I was able capture through the scope with just a 12min exposure before it set behind some trees.
