Haven't picked up a camera in quite awhile but the imminent smelt run and corresponding eagles and sea lions had me grab...

Haven't picked up a camera in quite awhile but the imminent smelt run and corresponding eagles and sea lions had me grabbing it to head out on this gorgeous day to scout.

Spotted about 20-30 eagles, depending on location, but they must have had their fill as they were contendedly perched in the trees. The smelt were visible from the shoreline and though more then I've personally ever seen before, I don't feel like it was that many. Also saw some sea lions. One raft (had to look that word up...never stop learning!) had an energetic member that was vaulting out of the water so that was fun to see.

This capture was taken with my cell phone...didn't get much with my Olympus, just enjoyed the beauty of the sights and sounds around me.
