What a great old photo from the past. things where so simple compared too tody.
Check out this stunning photo of Jake's Auto Parts 2, a salvage yard on U.S. Highway 80 between Dallas and Fort Worth in 1942. It's an exquisite tone poem of an image, with every detail --- the signage, the front grills of several cars leaning against the doors, the hubcaps, the wrecked car on the right, Jake himself (presumably) standing in the doorway --- and all perfectly exposed by Arthur Rothstein, who took this shot. Not to mention gas for 12.9 cents per gallon, and at such a stable price it could be painted. Jake's probably got all kinds of crazy stuff inside. You never know when you're going to need the interior door handles for a 1932 Cadillac 452-B Imperial Sedan! 😀 Truly one of the best photos I've ever posted.
