June 6th, what a day. While it was one of the best days of Kate and Kam’s lives, it was also one of the most emotional weeks of their lives thus far. When I walked into the getting ready space, it was filled with laughter and joy, but you could sense some pretty important people missing. Kate lost her dad a few months back, and her mom had been admitted to the ICU the week of their wedding. After I arrived, Kate’s maid of honor pulled Kate and her siblings aside with a gift for them. Inside was a pin with a picture of both her parents, while they weren’t there, they were felt HEAVY the entire day.
The morning continued on, we took bridal party photos, had a time, and then it was officially time to get these two married! Kate surprised everyone with a voicemail from her dad, that he had left her before passing. When I tell you there was not a dry eye in the building, I could barely see through my tears.
These two are the most genuine people I have ever met, and knowing these two, the vendor team they put together, made this day truly possible. Post ceremony we didn’t have the most time in the world, but we had about an hour during cocktail hour, so we headed to HCMC to see Kate’s mom. She was worried there wasn’t going to be enough time, and if it didn’t work it was okay. I told her we had more than enough time and we were absolutely going to make this happen. I am so glad they were able to include her mom in their day since she was not able to attend. The Nurses even had the room decorated for them when they arrived 🥹
This day really proved my statement above, they are the most genuine humans. The night before they held their rehearsal night before right next door to Quincy Hall at Earle Giles. And to say they made an impression would be an understatement. The staff was so touched by these two that they surprised them at their wedding with a box full of goodies from the staff🥲
As a friend, guest, and vendor.. Kate and Kam, you two are amazing!!! I love you both so much (crying writing this). Thank you for giving me the honor to capture this most special day.
