I really started my career in Cosmetology at Paul Mitchell the School in Santa Barbara, CA. Living in SoCal I worked at a higher end salon in Westlake, as well as Sport Clips. Even though I fell in love with Barbering, the artist in me couldn't stop wanting to color and create art with ladies hair. After 2 years of juggling 2 jobs, 2 kids, a husband, Military Key Spouse duties, and military life s

truggles, the USAF had other plans for the family and PCSed us to Altus, OK. Unsure of my next move, I moved into a new salon with no clientele and no friends, however, I held my head high and made the best of the situation. I fell in love with Altus as did my husband, and we decided to settle in to plant our roots here in Altus with our little Ranch (1AB Ranch). Hair by Desiree' is now located at Poppy Salon and Society at 104 N. The color lines I uses is Kuene/Redken/Pravana/ShadesEQ/TiGi/Mitch

Our Story

Full service Hair Salon and Photo Studio in Altus, Oklahoma. The salon specializes in hair cuts and color for ladies and gents. Desiree' started her career in Cosmetology at Paul Mitchell the School in Santa Barbara, CA. She graduated with Honors or as they call it "Phase 2." Living in SoCal she worked at a couple high end salons and Sport Clips. Even though she fell in love with Barbering, the artist in her couldn't stop wanting to color and create art with ladies hair. After 2 years of juggling 2 jobs, 2 kids, a husband, Military Key Spouse duties, and military life struggles, the USAF had other plans for the family and PCSed them to Altus, OK. Unsure of her next move Desiree moved into a new salon with no clientele and no friends, however, she held her head high and made the best of the situation. She fell in love with Altus as did her husband, and they decided to settle in to plant their roots here in Altus by opening up a salon/photo studio; Rustic Elegance. In the salon, all the stylists will have the opportunity to further their education, by going to shows, classes, and even have reps coming in and educating them on new products and color lines. Chapter 1: The love behind my work

After the birthday cake has been eaten, the high school diploma nailed to the wall, and the petals swept up off the floor, the only thing that remains from these special days are the memories. The moments that the mind often forgets, but the heart longs to remember. I believe in the magic of photographs. That they can make a heart remember what the mind forgets.

Chapter 2: Your investment

Each session is conducted on location around the Altus area. There are plenty of wonderful and dramatic scenes in our local area that can paint our beautiful background. Each session begins at $250 which includes a complimentary Photo CD and release form.

To update your “Real Wall” choose from my packages that feature professional quality prints, canvases, and metal prints. Most items are available within 10 work days.

Chapter 3: About me

I have been capturing memories for over 10 years and enjoy almost every type of photography to include: infants, families, weddings, and senior pics. I love capturing the natural personality and spontaneous expressions and actions. This makes for memorable photos and a relaxed photo session. In 2017, we decided to purchase a building in Altus and opened up Rustic Elegance Salon and Photo Studio. At this time the Photo Studio is still under construction and should be ready summer of 2018. After I retire the USAF in 2020, I’m planing on working as a photographer full time taking pictures in studio and on location. I offer quality photo prints, canvas, metal prints, and much more.

Today, we post memories on social media where they slowly get devoured and forgotten. However, there's nothing more warming and beautiful than sitting in the floor looking through old photographs. They hold a magic that I can't quite explain. It's like stepping back in time - but in your heart. So update your “REAL” wall with those memories.
