"The railroad" is an integral part of life here. I grew up loving trains, and one day a couple years ago, decided to take the camera I usually took to pop-culture conventions out and point it at them instead. Since then, its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, learning the 'rules' of the art as I go and meeting some pretty cool people (and seeing some cool places) along the way. In the past couple

years, I've started taking an interest in other subjects, primarily nature and landscape photography (which most railroad photography falls into)--florals, birds, waterfalls. Maybe someday I'll get the courage to shoot portraits.

"Steam. Is. Back." Three words, long awaited over the three years since this sleeping treasure reawakened from a slumber many believed would not end. Freshly outshopped 2-8-2 #16, not operated since March of 1956, made its public debut by pulling a short freight train (with tickets for the caboose sold out at $250/ea) at the Winter Spectacular.

On PA 555 somewhere between Benezette and Driftwood, you're likely to bump into a few elk. On my most recent drive through, I saw a herd of about 40 just west of Benezette, and a few bulls around Dents Run.
