The biggest reason I’ll always love bridal sessions. Beyond getting to create beautiful portraits somewhere like this, taking your bridals before the wedding gives us something we rarely have enough of on a wedding day. TIME.

Time to wait for the prettiest light, wander somewhere beautiful, be alone in the moments and make photos without watching the clock.

And when the wedding day comes? Your portraits are already done. There’s less pressure on the timeline and more room to actually be present with the people you love.

Your wedding photos shouldn’t feel like another thing you have to rush through. Sometimes the best thing you can give yourself is a little more time.

The best way to prepare for your session isn’t finding the perfect outfits or practicing your smile in the mirror… it’s preparing to be present. Being fully present for 60 minutes with your partner or family. It’s about not worrying about what the camera is capturing or if you’re looking photogenic.

The best thing you can to do to end up with the best images is to show up, love on your people, laugh, play, get a little messy, and forget about the camera as much as you can.

I’ll give you direction when you need it, but I’ll also leave room for things to unfold naturally.

So don’t come to your session worried about being photogenic. Come ready to be present.

A good engagement session isn’t about knowing how to pose or showing up with the perfect outfits. It’s about creating the space for you to actually feel like yourselves together.

The best sessions happen when you treat it less like a photoshoot and more like a date. Wear something you feel good in and won't be adjusting the entire time. Pick a location that feels like you. Move around, laugh, talk, flirt, be a little weird with each other, and don’t worry so much about what my camera is seeing.

You don’t need to know what to do with your hands (I promise I’ll help with that 😂), and you definitely don’t need to practice poses beforehand. My job is to give you enough direction that you never feel awkward, while still leaving room for the little in-between moments that make your photos feel like you.

And one of my biggest pieces of advice, don’t rush it. Give yourselves time before the session so you’re not showing up stressed, make a night out of it afterward (you're all dressed up anyway!), and let this be one of the fun parts of being engaged.

Moody skies, soft light, Brittany's bare feet in the sagebrush, and the Tetons doing what they do best. This is exactly why Wyoming sessions will always have my heart.
