Things that sound like an insult everywhere except ballet: “Look at those banana feet.”

In the ballet world? HIGH praise.

That gorgeous curve through the ankle and pointed foot is what dancers call “banana feet” - and when you get the right movement, lines, lighting, and timing, they photograph beautifully.

Basically, ballet is the only place where being compared to produce is a compliment.

My husband cheated on me.

With another photographer.

His company hired someone to do their corporate headshots, and I’m not saying I took it personally…but after 20 years of marriage, I really thought we had an understanding.

Fortunately, he knew how to make things right. The SAME DAY, he came into my studio so I could take my own.

Some businesses handle your crap. Scoop Brothers literally does.

Meet the mother-son team taking “family business” to a whole new level. Mom handles the customers, the truck handles the route, and the smallest employee is clearly upper management.

Because life is too short to spend your Saturday wandering the backyard with a plastic bag. Scoop Brothers comes to you, handles the dirty work, and leaves you with a clean yard and one less thing on your doo-doo list. (I’m sorry. I had to.)

And yes… photographing a p**p scooping company may officially be one of my favorite branding sessions ever.

Toddlerhood is wild. It’s sticky hands, belly laughs, endless energy, big feelings, and approximately 47 attempts to do everything “MYSELF.” 😂

But tucked inside all that chaos is so much sweetness. The way little boys love BIG. The snuggle is real. The way you're still their whole world at this age.

Get in the photos. Pick them up. Toss them in the air. Love on them. Let them be little.

Culture isn't just something we inherit. It's something we intentionally pass on.

One of the greatest honors of being a photographer is when a family trusts me to capture not only their smiles, but their traditions, their heritage, and the stories that make them who they are. These are more than beautiful portraits- they're a way for future generations to see where they came from, to celebrate their identity, and to keep their culture alive.
