September has always felt like a threshold to me.

The light begins to change.
The days begin to shorten.
The Earth begins its slow turn inward.

And I believe we are invited to do the same.

After the outward energy of summer, September offers us a different kind of invitation. To slow down, listen more deeply, and turn toward the parts of ourselves we may have kept in the shadows.

Not to fix them or judge them.
But to meet them.

Because there is wisdom in our shadows. There is beauty in our complexity. And there is freedom in realizing we don’t have to choose between the light and the dark.

We are both.

This month at Gaia Dawn, I’m creating spaces to explore that threshold together. From gathering around the fire for the Autumn Equinox, to walking beneath the trees, receiving intuitive guidance, and stepping in front of my camera to explore your own shadow and light.

If you’re feeling the pull to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself and the Earth, September is an invitation.

Come experience the season with me 🍁🕯️✨

Hey, I’m Jenn, and I live for this work.

I live for witnessing you exactly as you are.

You.

The woman who is soft and fierce.
The woman who carries scars and stories.
The woman who is still finding her way back to herself.
The woman who wants to be SEEN, not just looked at.

I live for the moment you forget the camera is there.
When you start to play.
When you laugh.
When you allow yourself to take up space.
When something shifts and I get to capture a glimpse of the woman underneath all the armor.

Because that is what I believe a portrait can be.

And maybe, years from now, when you look back at these photographs, you’ll see something you couldn’t quite see when we made them...

just how extraordinary you were all along.

This is why I pick up my camera.
This is why I keep doing this work.
This is at the core of who I am.

If you’re new here, welcome. I’m so glad you found your way into my little corner of the forest.

And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for continuing to come along with me. This work means more to me than I can put into words 📸🌳✨

The Wheel of the Year offers an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and remember that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.

It offers a way to move through the year in rhythm with the Earth. Noticing the turning of the seasons, honoring what each one asks of us, and allowing nature to guide us back to what is essential.

You don’t have to practice a particular tradition to find meaning in these cycles. You simply have to begin paying attention.

Save this post as a guide to return to throughout the year, and follow along if you’re curious about living more intentionally, seasonally, and in deeper relationship with the Earth.

There is so much more to explore!

The more time I spend here, the more I pay attention to what is already growing around me.

Mugwort. Goldenrod. Joe Pye w**d.

Plants that many people might pass by without a second thought, yet each has its own history, purpose, and gifts.

I believe that building a relationship with the land means more than simply enjoying its beauty or taking what it provides.

It means learning.

Paying attention.

Harvesting with care.

Offering gratitude.

And recognizing that we are part of an ecosystem that was here long before us and will continue long after us.

This is one of the ways I deepen my relationship with this sanctuary.

By getting to know the plants that call it home.

What grows wild around you that you’ve been curious to learn more about?
