Easton is full of old signs - some, yes, are advertising places that have long moved or closed. Others, however, have been hung above the same business for decades, still seeing patrons come and go.

Something about old signage has always fascinated me. The stories they hold, the way they represent the different times they were made — it’s an amazing look into a very human part of history.

Had an amazing last minute shoot yesterday with the best model in the world (She’s my sister, I might be biased) and I’m so happy with how they came out. I was worried with the storm coming in and the wind picking up it would make things harder, but it made for some incredible shots!

Some shots from the 2023 Memorial Day Parade in Easton, featuring the EAHS Marching Band! If you can’t tell, this band is enormous. They stretch across the entire football field when they perform, and when they’re parading, it feels like they fill up half the city. Even in almost 90 degree heat it was still a joy to get to watch them!

These photos were taken at Big Rock Park, near the peak of South Mountain. While the trail itself is quite small, and one has to skirt around a barbed-wire fence to follow it, it's home to one of the oldest rock formations in the state.

Soon after passing the aforementioned fence, one comes immediately upon Bauer Rock, also known as Big Rock. Bauer Rock is an exceptionally large formation of gneiss, a type of metamorphic rock. At its peak, it sits at about 1,040 feet, with a gorgeous view of Saucon Valley (400 feet below) to the south. But the most impressive aspect is its age - more than a billion years old.

Almost every inch of Bauer Rock and the surrounding formations are covered in graffiti; some are lewd, some profane, but most are just humans doing what humans have been doing since the beginning of time: painting on rocks. There are couples' names painted in hope, memorials for those lost, and more than anything else - art. There's nothing more human than that.
