Every worry. Every concern. Every fear. Every stress. It all melted away as I witnessed this moment between my son and daughter. This place is my favorite in the whole world. It’s where my mom brought our family growing up and it’s what I call my home. My sweet baby girl. First family trip. First time to see the ocean. First time to search for see glass and play in the sand. A comment on my last post mentioned how a can at times create a more impactful impression. It was said by my wise and beautiful cousin that black and white tends to allow the eye to catch sight of details which would normally be overlooked in color.

I honestly couldn’t agree more with this opinion. I have stated in the past that it is exactly why I love this type of photography. I personally tend to focus more on the subject it self and the light. In color images I will study the subject, the light, the shadow, the tint, the warmth or coolness, and so on.

Although adjustment of color and light affects black and white images, my mind doesn’t default into my “photographer” mode. It relaxes and I tend to appreciate the art of the capture altogether. I tend see the story and emotion naturally.

He was my initial subject to capture when I got my first DLSR. He came into my life when I needed him most. He is incredibly smart, goofy, spastic, creative, stubborn, humorous, and has one of the purest hearts I’ve ever come across in my lifetime. He is an amazing big brother to his little sister. He wants to be friends with just about anyone he meets because he finds something interesting about them that fascinates him. He truly loves his family and they love him. He is a dreamer like that of an artist, but his book smarts leave me in awe. When those he loves most hurt he hurts with them. He will do anything to cheer them up, even if it’s just a hug. Since he was 5 yrs old he has has said when he grows up he wants to have a career that helps others. This remarkable young man...is my son ❤️
