So, I downloaded all 5000+ photos that I took in the last 24 hrs. They are epic and can’t wait to share them. Tomorrow is edit day… here is the first pic of last nights epic Aurora with a quick edit. This isn’t even in the top 25 but it’s still stunning.

Hey friends! So, I recently headed to Mackinaw City, Michigan, super excited to snap some pics of the Northern Lights. 🌌 But guess what? They decided to play hide and seek with me! No worries though, because the night was clear, and I decided to switch gears and capture the Milky Way instead. 📸✨

Let me tell you, getting that shot wasn’t a walk in the park. The bright stars against the dark sky made it tricky, but I think I nailed it. Swipe to check out the result and drop me a comment! 🔄 🌟

Still my favorite! You can take a million photos of the Milky Way and it will be different every time. This one was taken a little later in the evening on the last day of my trip August 2022.

I wish I had more energy but by the 13th day, I was over hiking! 🙄 this is one of my favorite images so far but I’m sure there will be more.

Underneath the starry night, I found peace in the darkness, capturing the beauty above. It’s been a while since I’ve had this chance, and though I usually stay out of the frame, I’m starting to see the value in adding myself, just a bit. Here’s to new perspectives under the stars. Canon 5D iv

Taken April 8, 2024… I wasn’t planning to photograph the eclipse but I decided at the last minute to throw my camera up in my driveway for the hell of it. 😂 🌑 Sometimes the best shots happen when you least expect it. Canon R5, 70-200mm 11 images, 95% totality, and some creative license!

A recent photo I took at Tawas Point Lighthouse a couple months ago. This is a blend, I took the foreground during blue hour because of the harsh up lights on the building, and for the sky, I went down to the beach about 300 ft behind the subject to get a clear unobstructed view.

Foreground was shot at 24mm, ISO 100, 30s x 3 panels
Sky, 16mm, 15s x 5 exposures.

Weather was fairly hazy and the clouds ended up rolling in so, it is what it is. 😂

Here is a composite image that I created a few weeks ago. This was my first attempt at tracking the sky… I forgot to do a longer exposure for the foreground but is still turned out nice for what it is. Next time should be better.

The sky was challenging because of the airglow and the clouds along with the light pollution from a city 50 miles away. And it was very humid… had to use lens warmers to keep the dew off.

EXIF:
Sky, tracked, 8 panels, 35mm, 90s
Foreground, 2 exposures, 30s
