My favorite thing about photographs is how they transport us back in to a moment in the past; how quickly a memory can seem so fresh.

I always ask my families if there are specific poses/pictures they want, and it's not often that I will have someone say no... it's primarily because they want to recreate a pose from years before.

I love it! I'm here for it!

If it's something that just involves the kids, I always peek over at mum and dad, because for just a brief second, you can catch them remembering the first go at it.

Our babies grow up far too quickly for it to be fair.

Why yes, it IS that time of year already! Whether it's in-person, virtual learning, or homeschool the school year has snuck upon us again. Another summer is coming to a close and the kiddos are growing up too fast.

I have many favorite photographs, probably too many to count, but this is in the top.

Do you know why?

This is a photograph of a family from three households.
This is a photograph of a Nana and her grands.
This is a photograph filled with love and laughter (and a little mischief).
This is a photograph of life.

Time won't slow down, no matter how badly we want it to, and our babies won't stay little forever. These are the moments we will look back on and cherish forever.

{Nana}

Nana will always play the board game.
Nana will always make cookies.
Nana will always say yes when Mum says no.
Nana will always supply hugs and kisses.
Nana will always share her birthday cake....

And Nana will smoosh every grandkid's face in that cake if she wants to.

No one can replace Nana. 🥰

I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but my sweet little boy is seven years old today.

It LOVE a good black and white portrait.
It's probably not surprising that I have a ton of images of my children... aside from the fact that I use them to test out certain poses, settings, props, etc., having tangible memories from all stages of their lives is so important to me. I know I will be able to look back, years from now, and remember them just as they are in this moment...

I met this beautiful little girl when she was just a few days old and last weekend, she turned THREE.

How?! Where has the time gone?!

This was a bittersweet session, as our families will be saying our "see you laters" this week. (Excuse me while I ugly cry)

This is one of the hard parts of military life, but there's no measure of distance that would ever be "too far".

Keep being a ray of sunshine, sweet Ay. 🥰
