ᴛʜᴇꜱᴇ ᴛᴡᴏ ᴀʀᴇ ᴏꜰꜰɪᴄɪᴀʟʟʏ ɢʀᴀᴅᴜᴀᴛᴇꜱ! 🎓

One of the best parts of this job is getting to photograph families through so many chapters of life.

I met this family almost 10 years ago while we were living in Turkey, and over the years I’ve had the honor of capturing memories for them. So getting to photograph this senior session felt especially full circle. 🥹

It’s been fun watching him grow from a kid into such a kind, grounded young man, and now getting to celebrate such a huge milestone… graduation. 🎓

👏🏼 Congratulations to you and your amazing parents. So excited for everything ahead for you and so honored I got to document this chapter. 🤍

𝕎𝕒𝕚𝕥 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝕤𝕙𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕫𝕖𝕤 𝕚𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕤𝕟’𝕥 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕒 𝕨𝕒𝕝𝕜 𝕓𝕪 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣…🤍

We had just 2 days to plan this surprise proposal at Hains Point during peak cherry blossoms, and somehow, everything aligned perfectly.

The weather, the light, the timing… and the sweetest cover story. I brought my (very well-behaved) kids along so it looked like I was just another mom taking photos nearby. No suspicion, no pressure, just a normal evening by the water.

Then came the cue…
A yellow backpack, casually set down.

And just like that, it happened! Quicker than expected, completely genuine, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 she had no idea what was coming… the surprise, the emotion, the “wait… what is happening?!” moment, everything was there.

And then we wandered through the blossoms for the sweetest just-engaged portraits

Those first weeks at home with a new baby feel almost suspended in time. Slow mornings. Tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The quiet moments between feedings and naps when you realize your whole world just changed.

It’s such a special chapter, and it passes so quickly. Most families are so deep in it they don’t even realize how fast it’s going. Which is why photographing these early weeks at home will always feel meaningful to me.

Welcome to the world, sweet girl. Your family already loves you so much.

𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮’𝓼 𝓼𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓼𝓸 𝓼𝓹𝓮𝓬𝓲𝓪𝓵 𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓬𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪 𝔀𝓮𝓭𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓾𝓮 𝓽𝔀𝓲𝓬𝓮… first in quiet stillness for an intimate engagement session, and later surrounded by family and friends on the wedding day.

J&L’s engagement photos at Sunshine Ridge Farms were cozy, relaxed, and full of authentic love. From cozy and warm indoor moments to outdoor shots among the Northern Virginia landscape (there was still ice on the lake!), these winter engagement photos perfectly captured this chapter of their story.

I’m so looking forward to returning here to photograph them surrounded by all of the fall colors for their October wedding.

Today’s branding session with the talented hair + makeup artist was relaxed and playful on the surface, but every detail was intentional.

College kids and teenagers who wake up for sunrise family photos during holiday break deserve a trophy. 😂

Historic Leesburg gave us the perfect winter backdrop and these five brought the energy. Loved every minute with this family. This season goes fast, but photos let you hold onto it.
