You can absolutely plan a meaningful, intentional elopement within a few months.

Especially when your day is centered less around pressure and expectations and more around being fully present with each other.

Some of the best elopement days are the ones that allow you to slow down, experience the day together, and create something that actually feels personal and reflective to your relationship.

Your Shenandoah elopement could look like a slow morning in a cabin, private vows at an overlook, bringing your dogs along for the adventure, sharing a picnic together, hiking to a quiet view, or simply spending the day surrounded by the mountains and the people who matter most to you.

A beautiful experience does not need to be complicated.

This is one of the reasons I care so deeply about helping couples create immersive elopement experiences in Shenandoah. I help guide the locations, timeline, lighting, permits, vendor recommendations, and all the details that help the experience feel relaxed, intentional, and easy from the very beginning.

And I currently have space for 1–2 more Shenandoah elopements this summer (June through August) for couples wanting something personal, nature-filled, and fully their own.

If this feels aligned with the kind of experience you’ve been wanting for your elopement day, you can reach out through the link in my bio or send me a DM to start the conversation✨

They built their wedding day around the thing that helped them fall in love. ✨🎨

Veronica & Anna Claire chose to elope in Washington, DC with the National Gallery of Art at the center of it all because museums & art have been part of their relationship from the very beginning.

They met while working together as nurses during the pandemic & found connection with each other.. Over time, art museums became one of their favorite places to wander, talk deeply, learn, & simply enjoy being together. They even got engaged in the Louvre in Paris!

So when it came time to get married, they chose a day that felt like them.

We started at their hotel with thoughtful details like vintage DC postcards, a handmade ring box stitched with their two cats & a silk bouquet Veronica made.

After a sweet first look, we headed to the National Gallery of Art for their self-officiated ceremony.

One of the most amazing things about getting married in DC is couples can legally marry themselves, creating such a personal & intimate experience.

Surrounded by art and their closest people, they exchanged heartfelt vows, rings, happy tears, and their first kiss as a married couple.

Then came one of my favorite details of the day.

They created a custom Spotify playlist for everyone to listen to (with headphones) while exploring the museum together, making the experience feel even more connected & meaningful.

They also visited a favorite painting: da Vinci’s Ginevra de’ Benci by where we recreated a photo Veronica had dreamed of with their rings with the Latin phrase: Beauty adorns virtue.

After the museum, they celebrated with lunch, art-themed gifts for guests, & an art heist escape room)

Because your wedding day is allowed to be joyful. t’s allowed to be playful. And it’s allowed to include the things you genuinely love.

That’s the beauty of eloping.

Your day can be centered around a museum, bookstore, favorite restaurant, a mountain trail, city streets, or anything meaningful to your relationship.

If you’ve been dreaming of a personalized DC elopement, I’d love to help you create it. I have 3 spots left for 2026 this summer and am now booking 2027.

DM me to get started ✨

What if you just… eloped?

Not because you hate weddings.
Not because you want to run away.

But because you want your wedding day to actually feel like you.

Eloping doesn’t have to mean hiking miles into the mountains (unless you want it to).

Adventure elopements can look like:

• Exchanging vows on a quiet overlook in Shenandoah National Park

• Wandering through your favorite art museums in Washington DC

• Watching the sunrise together along Skyline Drive

• Exploring the streets of Georgetown after your ceremony

• Charting a private yacht on the Potomac River to see DC from the water

• Sharing champagne with the few people who matter most

• Taking a quiet moment together after saying “I do”

Adventure isn’t about doing something extreme.

It’s about creating a wedding day that feels intentional, meaningful, and completely your own. Where you plan a day full of important locations and fun activities and you get to have the time of your life saying “I Do” with your partner in a way that feels like a true representation of your relationship.

If you’re dreaming about eloping in Virginia or Washington DC, follow along. I share real elopement stories, location ideas, and tips to help couples create a wedding day that feels like an adventure.

And sometimes it all starts with the same thought:
“What if we just… eloped?”

Send this to someone you know who you would this idea! ✨

2025 has been a wild ride. I’m incredibly grateful for my couples, my family, & my friends who supported me along the way.

This year, I photographed 20 beautiful elopements and micro weddings and 4 sessions. I also launched my brand new website & I’m truly in love with it!

Every couple I worked with reminded me why I do this. Trusting me to capture your memories is something I will never take for granted 💕

Cory & I finally had our micro wedding celebration in the Virginia mountains .If you don’t already know, our original wedding date was supposed to be October 5, 2024 in North Carolina. But Hurricane Helene brought severe flooding, & we had to cancel everything just one week before.

We rescheduled for June 2025. And of course, on that day, another huge rain & lightning storm rolled through. After a momentary freakout, all we could do was laugh. Our vendor team did an amazing job pivoting to the rain plan.

Even with all of that, the day was beautiful. It felt like us. And being on the other side of the camera made me even more grateful for this job & the trust my couples place in me.

Cory & I also bought a house this year. It’s been a whirlwind of learning how to be homeowners. But we’re fully moved in now, and it finally feels like home.

Cory kept his wedding vows and built me an in-home library, & I am fully obsessed. We even have a new cozy reading chair in there, & it’s already one of my favorite spots in the house.

2025 had its hard moments too. We can’t ignore what’s happened this year with this administration & how it’s impacted the DC region, federal workers, & so many others.

I will always stand up for what’s right. That includes standing up for our National Parks, for human rights, and for the good that’s still left in this world that’s worth fighting for, Mr. Frodo.

Being a female business owner IS political. Working in weddings is political too. All are welcome here, & I will continue to use my privilege and my voice to speak up for those who can’t.

I have no idea what 2026 will bring, but I’m ready. I’m excited. And I can’t wait to meet the couples I haven’t met yet, tell the stories that haven’t happened yet, and see what unfolds. ✨

Romantic museum engagement sessions like this are what I live for!

Sarah and Matthew flew to DC for this session from Florida because they didn’t just want pretty pictures. They wanted an experience. Something cinematic. Intentional. Personal. And from the moment we started planning, that vision was so exciting to bring to life!

We talked through every detail: what they wanted the session to feel like, the outfits that would elevate the setting, and how to make the space feel both grand and intimate. I got to know their story, how they reconnected years after childhood, and why their session meant so much now that they were engaged.

And then, for two full hours, we wandered through marble halls and art galleries. We weren’t rushed. We had time to slow down, and truly be present as well as the freedom to get creative with the photos we were creating.

From intimate close-ups to dramatic wide shots, they trusted me to lead and guide them to create art together. And that’s what allowed us to capture the kind of emotion

“Juliana made the entire experience so easy and fun! She has a unique eye for making one-of-a-kind photos for couples,” - Sarah said in her Google review after their session

These are the kinds of sessions that stay with you. Not just because of how the final gallery looks, but I helped create a space for my couples to be fully seen and celebrated in the process.

If you’re dreaming of an art museum engagement session that reflects the real you, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

We just moved into our new house last week, and there’s a blank wall in the living room that keeps catching my eye.

I’ve been scrolling through our wedding gallery, trying to find the photo. The one that feels like us. The one that captures a moment so full of love and joy that I can still feel it in my chest.

And I found it. Right after we said “I do.” A quiet pause, full of love and excitement.

That’s the photo I want on our wall. Not just because it’s beautiful. Because it feels like home.

Your memories deserve the same. They weren’t meant to stay in the cloud. They were meant to live with you. To be held, framed, gifted, and remembered.

Literally crying at Bailey & David’s reactions to their elopement gallery 😭

I’m so incredibly lucky to work with such amazing couples! Bailey and David traveled to Virginia from Florida for their mountain elopement and had immediate family at their ceremony.

We even did two hikes that day: one hike to a mountaintop summit with breathtaking views of Shenandoah and the other to a waterfall perfect for cooling off in the early summer.

We truly had SO much fun and I can’t wait to share more photos but had to take a second to say THANK you to each and every one of my couples that trust me with your wedding days.

I KNOW how hard it can be to go against the norm and plan an elopement or microwedding so I love to a vendor who can help bring your vision to life and provide your with the space to truly be yourselves and have your best day ever 🙌🏻🎉

Of course, you’ll get stunning photos with me as your photographer but I’m much more than that. I can help you plan your entire elopement experience so that planning is a breeze and you have someone to guide through the process.

If this sounds like you, feel free to DM me or fill out the contact form on my website to get started planning 🤗

Michelle and Brian chose to get married in DC with an intimate ceremony in an art museum courtyard, a yacht celebration on the Potomac, and a candlelit dinner at one of the city’s most romantic restaurants.

Their day was full of meaning, beauty, and a little adventure. No ballroom. No big production. Just a thoughtful, elevated experience that felt like them.

They started the morning at the St. Regis, a historic and beautiful hotel in the city. Michelle got ready with her family while Brian got ready with his family, both soaking in the anticipation.

Their ceremony took place in the a art museum courtyard. Michelle’s dad walked her in where Brian saw her for the first time that day. Her sister officiated. Their niece was the flower girl. Their nephew delivered the rings. Every moment was intimate and personal, with family woven into every detail.

After a few group photos, we explored the museum’s elegant hallways and art exhibits before heading into the Smithsonian Castle Garden next door, where the pink Saucer Magnolias were in full bloom which makes a perfect backdrop for spring wedding portraits.

Then we made our way to the Wharf marina, where a private yacht was waiting. Champagne on ice. Oysters and seafood ready to serve.

They played their custom playlist as we cruised past the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, with cherry blossoms blooming along the river. They danced on the back deck, toasted with loved ones, and soaked in the views. It was romantic, luxurious, and completely unique.

To end the night, they hosted an intimate dinner at Iron Gate with a curated tablescape. They cut their custom floral cake and the evening was filled with candlelight and celebration. The perfect closing chapter to a one-of-a-kind day.

This is what’s possible when you choose something different for your wedding.

If you’re dreaming of an elopement filled with intention, beauty, and ease, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

Sunrise vows. Mountain views and waterfalls. A first dance at the summit. And surprise souvenir mugs.

Bailey and David’s Shenandoah National Park elopement was the definition of intentional, adventurous, and joy-filled.

They started their day with quiet moments at their Airbnb, surrounded by mountain views. After a sweet first look in the backyard, they exchanged personal gifts and shared private vows on the deck—just the two of them.

Their ceremony took place at one of my favorite overlooks in Shenandoah. It was a cool, quiet June morning, and the mountains felt like their own private backdrop. Bailey’s dad officiated the ceremony while their immediate family watched, and their dogs happily explored nearby.

After family photos, we set off for two short hikes in the park: one to a mountaintop summit and another to a waterfall. They wanted both views and water, and with a little planning, we made it happen. The trails were quiet, the light was beautiful, and they even shared a first dance at the top of the mountain.

To end the day, they stopped at one of the park’s souvenir shops to continue their tradition of picking out a mug from every place they visit. They live in Florida but love hiking and exploring the outdoors. They even spent their honeymoon hiking in Canada, so this felt like the perfect ending to a day full of intention, meaning, and freedom.

This is what a Shenandoah elopement can look like:

-A slow, peaceful morning

-A custom day with space for both adventure and connection

-Personal vows, shared privately or with family

-Dogs included

-Time for the small traditions that make your relationship yours

Bailey and David’s day is proof that your elopement can be completely your own. No pressure. No performance. Just a day that feels like coming home.

While we were hiking, they kept saying how freaking cool it was to spend their wedding day in the mountains, doing what they love together.

If you’re dreaming of an elopement in Shenandoah National Park or somewhere else in Virginia, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

After nearly nine years together, Cory & I finally had our micro wedding last weekend. And while not everything went according to plan (thank you, summer lightning storms), it was still so deeply beautiful.

The vision was Pride & Prejudice meets Lord of the Rings. Romantic, natural, a little moody, a little magical.

We had to flip the timeline, delay the ceremony, and wait out the storm. But our vendor team did an amazing job flipping the order of events & keeping the party going. I’m endlessly grateful for how supported we felt all day.

Because Cory & I were already legally married, it took away the pressure to make the day “perfect.” My brother, Austin, even officiated the ceremony. Our only goal was to celebrate with the people we love and be fully present. And that part was everything.

This year also marks ten years since my dad passed, so it was an emotional day for all of us. He was a musician, and one of my favorite moments was a family dance to a recording of him singing. He was absolutely there in spirit, along with so many grandparents and great-grandparents we honored.

What made it all even more meaningful is that this was our second attempt at a wedding. Our original date last fall was canceled because of Hurricane Helene flooding everything in Western North Carolina. So we planned everything again in just eight months and brought the vision to life in the mountains of Virginia.

We even ended the night with our group of friends playing Cards Against Humanity. I’m so grateful for our friends and family and the support we had the day of.

I even made the table numbers using my new branding from and we walked down the aisle to live musicians playing Concerning Hobbits 💕
