Proof that you don’t need to pack up the car and drive to a park for family photos.

​We did this session right in this sweet family's Northern Virginia backyard. Between their magical treehouse, bubbles, and digging in the sand, the kids were in their element. Nothing forced and parents can just let go and have fun with their kids.

​If the thought of dressing everyone up and dragging them to a location feels overwhelming, let's just hang out at your house. 🤍

So many of our memories happen around food.

Snacking between moments, catching up around the table, a shared bite mid-conversation. It’s often where people feel the most like themselves.

And yes, eating can lead to a little mess. That’s welcome here. A bit of chaos, a few crumbs, and lots of laughter that sneaks in when things aren’t perfectly put together.

That’s usually where the best moments live.

When we took photos with I asked if we could take them at this specific pathway in the park by the water in Old Town. It’s a spot we've loved to walk since we moved here.

When you’re thinking about your own session, I want you to skip the perfect search for a moment and ask yourself:

• Where does your family feel most like yourselves?
• Where do you actually spend your time together?
• Where will your kids feel most comfortable?

Whether it’s a favorite neighborhood street, the backyard, or a quiet park by the water... choosing a place that has meaning makes the session unique to you.

And don’t get me wrong, nature deeply inspires me. I’m always looking for a patch of pretty flowers or beautiful architecture. There are so many stunning locations in the area, but beauty shouldn’t replace meaning.

When we find a place that has both your comfort and the light or scenery I love, that’s when we find the magic.
