As someone who LOVES several film stocks from Kodak like E100, Ektar, Portra, & TMax, this one hurts!

In an earnings report on Monday, Kodak said it doesn’t have “committed financing or available liquidity” to pay about $500 million in upcoming debt obligations.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to…❤️❤️❤️

The cars.
The film.
The way we saw the world.

This is the last roll of I shot on the before she went in for a long-overdue spa day. Gulf shores, classic chrome, and one last light leak before my baby gets all new seals. 😘 ✨

Built for the ones who still believe in slowing down and soaking it in.

Kodak Gold never misses.
Clean. Nostalgic. Timeless.
Shot on my Minolta X-370, these 35mm frames feel the way summer should — warm, honest, and a little bit magical.

Anybody else an old soul?

Film slows you down. It makes you notice things. It turns ordinary moments into stories worth holding onto and telling over and over again.

Film doesn’t lie — it just glows.

These Pentax 67 frames from Gulf Shores were shot on Portra 400 and CineStill 800T, and they’re everything I love about analog photography: bold color, soft grain, and that unmistakable red halation glow you only get when shooting 800T after dark (first shot with the halation dancing across the Starliner Diner). ❤️❤️❤️

No filters. No retouching. Just real light, real moments, and a 30-year-old camera that still has stories to tell.

How can you not be romatic about film?

You gotta see the last shot! It is (👨‍🍳 💋) exquisite…

🎯 Some shots just hit different.

Every senior session has those frames—the ones where the light, the moment, and the energy all align perfectly. These are my personal favorites from Addison Clark’s senior session ✨

She made this shoot feel effortless, and these images? I think they speak for themselves.

I love film! I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again: I love film!

When I bought my Pentax 67 earlier this year, this is the reason. I’ve wanted to get back to pure photography without all the automation (not that I use it in my digital stuff), without all the filters, & without the generative AI.

I wanted to create something REAL.

I wanted to have authentic experiences that were MEANINGFUL.

I wanted to get back to photography that is INTENTIONAL.

Special thanks to my incredible model, Skylar for embracing this opportunity & helping bring this vision to life.

Keep an eye out. There’s more to come. I’m just getting started!

The redesign fo ryanwadephotos.com is virtually complete with the lone exception of my film portrait portfolio (hopefully in the next few days! Just waiting on scans).

I’ve got a blog on there now, as well, aimed at helping answer some of the frequent questions I get & sharing some stories from photoshoots and games.

My first post titled, “When Should You Book Your Senior Photos? (Hint: It’s Earlier than You Think)” is up. It’s short, but there are eight reasons it’s better to book sooner rather than later!

Film photography is having itself a bit of a renaissance right now. I’m here for it!

One of the benefits of the popularity of film coming back is we are getting new film stocks. Ilford just released a brand new B&W film stock in their Kentmere Pan line. This ISO 200 speed film is really inexpensive, so I grabbed some up to give it a try.

My first impression isn’t bad, but it isn’t great, either. I love a lot of contrast in my B&W photos whether they are fil or digital. This stock was low contrast, so I was heavier handed in the editing than I typically like to be just to get that contrast I expect from B&W. I’d probably rate this particular stock a 3/5. It’s clean. Low grain. Very crisp in the details. But that low contrast is a big issue for me personally.

In case you’re wondering, my favorite B&W film stock I’ve shot to this point is Ilford XP2 Super 400. That is a legit B&W film!

P.S., I asked the young lady studying if I could take a few photos of her beforehand. I’m not much of a street photographer in the sense of taking photos of people living life completely unaware. I am much more comfortable approaching people to ask their permission.
