Someone asked me recently if I still get nervous shooting. Ummm yeah I do!

The moments I get to capture are exciting and nerve racking and only happen once. The immense honor of being the one chosen to capture these moments is not something I take for granted.

I’m nervous because I care, because I want everything to be perfect not for me but for YOU. So I prepare, I plan, I see everything that can go wrong so I am ready for it and that…that creates confidence.

Energy feeds on energy and when I am just as nervously excited as my couples…That’s where the magic lies.

(For the record, The most nerve racking will always be surprise proposals!! + )

I get asked all the time if the “getting ready” part of the day really matters — if couples actually need photos of them just getting dressed.

Honestly? It’s one of my favorite parts of the entire day.

Because it’s not really about you putting clothes on and it’s not just about you. It’s about who you’re spending those moments with. The people who mean everything to you. The ones who have been dreaming of this day just as long (or maybe even longer), and the ones who keep things light, make you laugh, and hold you steady.

It’s a space filled with raw, beautiful emotions — the kind you might not even realize are happening, or might forget in the whirlwind of it all.

So yes… it matters. More than you might think.

Because in those moments, I’m not just telling your story — I’m telling theirs too. And really… isn’t that what it’s all about?
