Ghost Ranch, New Mexico:

This post is a little different from my others since Ghost Ranch isn't truly an abandoned site, but it has rich history and a lot of very old buildings, including one that they call the Ghost House. Growing up my family would go camping at Ghost Ranch every year and I remember it fondly, through the eyes of a child. I was curious to go back and see how similar it was to my memories. While my memories did hold true in the broad strokes, they certainly did not do justice to the beautiful scenery around there. It's a wonderful mixture of old west, slightly spooky, with some excellent spirituality mixed in. I wandered the labyrinth to open my spirit and gave thanks at the water wheel. My inner child was excited to see some things she remembered, like an old building on top of the red clay hills that we used to climb which was basically empty except for a few tables (still there!!) The stories we would make up about those buildings as children... There's also a rocking chair in the Ghost House that I remembered daring each other to sit in. 😁
