It has been good to rest during this holiday weekend. I have done a good number of shoots this year and I am so thankful. Each shoot is a chance for me to get creative and work with amazing people. I learn and grow so much with each photoshoot and I am so thankful for every person I have ever had the opportunity to photograph.

I took these photos at the park a few weeks ago as part of a class assignment- cant get enough of autumn 🍂 🍁

“Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. I love this painting from the Dutch golden age. Vermeer captured the mundane in vibrant strokes of oil paint with exceptional lighting. Lighting that applies to us as photographers. It is a source of inspiration to look at paintings from this era and translate it into our modern day art practice. ⁣

I started photography in 2017. ⁣
I took a chance and bought a used canon xti from a sketchy craigslist ad. ⁣
I have spent many hours teaching myself and learning from others. ⁣
I am thankful for the experience that I gained from many other photographers and models who took the time to explain things to me and worked with me even when I had no clue what I was doing! ⁣

This shoot was one of the first shoots I did on the mesa with and my new full frame camera. ⁣
