I knew I wanted the iced coffee to look like it was about to fall. I had a general idea of the vibe (dramatic, moody, sophisticated) and everything else fell in to place on shoot day. I tested and played around with fake ice, the type of glassware, creating condensation, and some dramatic shadows, because at that point, why not?
The final image is exactly what I had in mind, but it to a lot on camera and in post to make it happen.
And this is why clients can't have the RAW files.
Not because I don't want them to have them (which is true 🙈) but because what would the value be?
The original image with various color temperatures, a visible c-stand, and museum putty holding up the glass is serving no one. No one wants to see it.
Clients hire me for my process, my expertise, and the quality I know I can deliver. Without the editing component the work just isn't mine.
