Happy pub day Johnny Tromboukis | Kumiko Woodworking 🙌

I worked with Johnny during the summer of 2025 to photograph the images for his first book, “Kumiko”. While shooting, I got to learn about the Japanese form of woodworking and see Johnny create some incredible pieces of art in real time.

This was my first time shooting a book and for that, and many other reasons, it will always be a special project for me.

✨5 days

✨1000+ RAW files

✨Nearly 400 final photos

✨1 beautiful book!

The craftsmanship and dedication that went into “Kumiko” is so impressive. If you or someone you know is into woodworking, I highly recommend purchasing a copy!

Not to alarm everyone but it’s September, which means the holiday season basically starts tomorrow 🫠

If you want to launch your holiday campaigns at the beginning of November, the time to start planning and executing is now.

Start at the beginning and consider the products you’re going to promote and the story that will help you do so. Are you playing into nostalgia? Embracing the coziness of the season? Or maybe you’re positioning your product as a must have at holiday dinner parties. Align on a style or theme for your visuals that will captivate and resonate with your audience, not just sell a product.

Finally, consider what you’ll need for emails, social ads, organic posts, and website imagery. Do you need video components? Have stop motion gifs performed well in the past? What about last year’s holiday campaign resonated with your audience?

With over 6 years of marketing experience, I know just how crazy Q4 can be. Let me be your visual partner, creative director, and holiday spirit champion, and help you create a campaign that will delight even the grinch.

Isola in April.

I love these photos because they show what it’s like to really be in the space, surrounded by others looking to enjoy an evening of good food and w**e.

Pretty pictures of food are one thing, but giving guests a glimpse into your restaurant before they’ve even visited is another.

The vibes, the lighting, the cozy bench seats, and the staff that knows guests by name.

These are all integral to a restaurant and their identity.

Looking at these photos, I see a restaurant that has intentionally created a welcoming space where strangers strike up conversations, guests linger to enjoy the last few sips of w**e, and the food is a celebration of the seasons.

I see a place I want to visit.

Hire the photographer. Make a statement. Show your audience an experience they can’t miss out on.

Looks like the perfect summer evening to me. 🍓

This strawberry chutney olive oil crostata from is the perfect dessert for a warm summer evening. It's somewhere between a pie and a tart, with a rustic crust and thyme infused strawberry chutney that is bright and delicious.

Although a little challenging to photograph head on, a scoop of strawberry ice cream from added the height I needed and even more incredible flavors to the shot.

I wish every photo was perfect on camera, but that's often not how this works, especially when shooting in restaurants.

Reflections can be hard to manage, the plates are too blue, and sometimes the best spot to shoot a bowl of pasta is on a booth with a seam running down the middle.

Thank god for Photoshop. 🙌

Don’t forget the garnish!

Working on this stop motion gif for Blind Tiger was so much fun!

Adding stop motion videos on to a creative brief is one of my favorite ways to show a product in use. Even something as simple as pouring a beverage is instantly made more exciting when there’s movement and action.
